Geographical time videos

After watching the geographical time videos, I learnt that the continents moved a lot through the past and they continue to move. Some of the places that were icy and now tropical forests, some of continents less dense crust float on the water like ice burgs. There's more facts that I found interesting that I learnt from the videos but those were the ones I found the more interesting. Although, I would like to know how scientists thought the continents moved when technology wasn't the best many years ago?

Does God exist?

I personally don't believe in God. To me, God in a piece of the imagination and is a piece of hope that there is more to life then being born, living then dying. Another reason that I don't believe is because there is so much bad and sadness in the world. If God did exist, wouldn't he be able to stop all the bad and sadness in the world? And I've been told that God has a plan for all of us and everything happens for a reason. Is it planned when someone is murdered? Is there a reason why people get in accidents? Is there a reason why people are suffering? Is it planned for people to be homeless or starving? I think if God did exist, the bad and sadness wouldn't be here. I do not believe that God is really because I don't see a point in giving myself too much hope that it will be ok in the end.

Impressions

So far, I am liking social studies and it seems like it will be a fun in the future. I like using the iPads for class, it helps us learn more about technology and it's good tool for learning. I've never really liked social studies when I was younger because when I went to a public school we did the same thing every year and never learnt anything new. However, when I started at a Catholic school, wee talked about the Holocast and some other stuff that I forget. I can tell that I'm going to be learning a lot of new things and I'm excited for it!
